सध्या असे दिसून येते कि, शेती फक्त शेतकरी आणि शेतकऱ्यांचे मुले व शेतात काम करणारे मजूर यांच्यासाठीच हा विषय व शेतीशी निगडीत माहिती आहे बस... इतकी छोटी संकल्पना का झालीय सध्या शेती या विषयाची. तसे बघितले तर शेती हा व्यापक आणि प्रत्येक मानवतेचा विषय आहे हे कधी कळणार तुम्हा आम्हा सर्वांनाच. कारण असे प्रकर्षाने दिसून येते कि, कुणालाही शेतीसाठी माहिती घेण्याची विशेष रुची नसते. असा समज दिसून येतो कि शेती म्हणजे फार श्रम आणि अवघड बाब आहे. सर्वांना या गोष्टी समजल्या पाहिजेत आपण जो भाजीपाला, फळे, धान्य, मसाला पिके इत्यादी आपल्या दैनंदित आयुष्यात खातो व उपयोग करतो ते कसे येते? या बद्दल उत्सुकता असली पाहिजे. आजची तरुण पिढी जेव्हा याकडे एक रुची, संधी आणि उत्तम व्यवसाय म्हणून पाहण्यास सुरुवात करेल तेव्हा शेती या क्षेत्राचे स्वरूप उत्तम झालेले असेल. शेती हा विषय फक्त शेतकऱ्यांसाठी नाही हा विषय सर्व मनुष्यांसाठी आहे. शेती असे क्षेत्र आहे ज्यामध्ये सर्वांसाठीच मोठ्या व उत्तम संधी दडलेल्या आहेत. त्यामध्ये डॉक्टर, वेगवेगळे इंजिनियर, शिक्षक इत्यादी सर्वच क्षेत्रातील शिक्षण संपादन केलेल्या सर्वांसाठी शेतीमध्ये विविध संधी आहेत. शेतीमध्ये विविध पद्धतीचे संशोधन होण्यास मोठा वाव आहे जसे पिकांमध्ये, बियाण्यांमध्ये इत्यादी ठिकाणी संशोधन होत असतात व होण्यास मोठा वाव आहे. तसेच शेतीत नवीन तंत्रज्ञानाला देखील चांगला वाव आहे. म्हणून शेती हा विषय फक्त शेतकरी, शेतकऱ्यांचे मुले आणि मजूर यांच्यासाठी जसा आपुलकीचा, महत्वाचा आणि आपला आहे. तसाच तुम्हा आम्हा सर्वांसाठी देखील तितकाच आपुलकीचा, महत्वाचा आणि आपला असला पाहिजे. अभ्यासण्यासाठी शेती हा मोठा विषय आहे आजच्या तरुण पिढीने यात रुची घेतली पहिजे. तो आपला विषय नाही असे म्हणून सोडून न देता तो आपलाच विषय आहे आणि त्याकडे आपण सतत दुर्लक्ष करतो असे न करता यात काहीतरी आपण करू शकतो या दृष्टीने याकडे पाहिले गेले पाहिजे. सर्व ठिकाणी हे दिसून येते कि, शेती हा विषय पाहिला कि बोलले जाते हा आपला विषय नाही किंवा काय करायचे आहे ती माहिती घेवून असे म्हणून चालणार नाही निदान आजच्या तरुण पिढीला तरी. कारण हा विषय आपलाच आहे ज्याकडे आजवर जसे हवे तसे नाही बघितले गेलेले म्हणून हि स्थिती झाली आहे. परंतु आज आपल्याला हि स्थिती बदलण्याची संधी मिळाली आहे आणि त्या दृष्टीने आपण गोष्टी केल्या पाहिजेत. 

शेती हा आपला मूळ गाभा आहे म्हणून त्यातून कुणी असे नाही बोलू शकत कि हा माझा विषय नाही. हा प्रत्येक मानव जातीचा विषय आहे. मग तो कुणासाठी फक्त शेती असेल, तर कुणासाठी व्यवसाय असेल, तर कुणासाठी रोजगाराची उत्तम संधी म्हणून असेल. तर कुणासाठी फक्त आपण जे खातो ते उत्पादित कसे होते हे समजण्याची इच्छा असेल. असे एक न अनेक कारणांनी भूमंडलातील प्रत्येक सजीव हा कुठे नाहीतर कुठे शेतीशी जोडलेला आहे. हि जागरूकता आपल्याला सर्वांमध्ये आणणे गरजेचे आहे. ज्यावेळी शेतीच्या बाबतीत हि जागरूकता आपल्या सर्वांमध्ये येईल तेव्हाच आपल्या पुढील पिढ्यांना त्याची लवकर जाणीव होईल. हे सगळे जे आत्ता करावे लागते शेतीच्या बाबतीत ते होण्याची गरज भासणार नाही. कारण पुढच्या पिढीला लहानपणापासूनच शेती आणि शेतीचे महत्व आणि शेतीतील विविध संधी या गोष्टी योग्य वेळी समजलेल्या असतील. याचा उत्तम परिणाम हा शेतीवर होण्यास मदत होईल. कधीही शेतीसाठी कुठलेही लढे देण्याची आवश्यकता पडणार नाही. इतर क्षेत्रांप्रमाणे शेती हा देखील रुची आणि संधी असलेले क्षेत्र बनेल. आज शेतीमध्ये कुशल कामगारांची आवश्यकता आहे. जे मजूर शेतात काम करतात त्यांना चांगले प्रशिक्षण देवून नवीन गोष्टी सुरु केल्या जावू शकतात. तरुण पिढीने शेतीकडे फक्त शेती म्हणून न पाहता एक संधी म्हणून बघावे व शेती हा आपलाच विषय आहे हे समजून घेतले पाहिजे. त्याकडे दुर्लक्ष न करता त्यात आपल्याला काय करता येईल सर्वांगाने ते बघितले पाहिजे. असे झाल्यास शेती क्षेत्रात आधुनिक शेती क्रांती होण्यास मदत होईल. तसेच मानवजात सुखी व समृद्ध होण्यास वेळ लागणार नाही...
